Southern Grampians Shire Council Family Day Care continues to embrace and advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and acknowledge the diversity within our communities. Â
We continue to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples unique cultural and spiritual relationships to the land, waters and seas; where the wisdom, strengths and resilience of Ancestors and Elders, past, present and future emerging leaders are honoured, and their rich contribution to society is supported and valued.Â
We continue to recognise our vital role in empowering our children, families, Educators and wider community to respect, understand and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's culture, history, knowledge, traditions and language.Â
We will continue to develop culturally safe spaces where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people feel comfortable and a sense of belonging and will continue to champion for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples voices, stories and truths to be told. Â Â
Our service maintains our commitment to engage and collaborate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities as the foundation for guiding our practice as we work towards embedding cultural awareness throughout our service and wider community.Â
