At Happy Feet Early Learning Centre Corio, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders as the Traditional Custodians of the lands and waterways which we occupy today. We recognise the spiritual connections and deep knowledge that First Nation peoples have to Country. Our vision for reconciliation is centred around respectfully uplifting culture and connection, allowing for all children, especially First Nation children, to have the best possible start to their lives and thrive in their culture. We envision a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories, cultures, and perspectives are respectfully embedded in all aspects of learning. We aim to foster respect, build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and work towards equality and equity. Through ongoing learning and collaborative relationships with the Wadawurrung community, we strive to create an environment where all children can feel a sense of belonging to our centre community.
