Goodstart Early Learning Mckinnon recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and as the Custodians of the Land on which we all live, work and play. Our vision for reconciliation is for Goodstarters to engage with reconciliation on both a personal and professional level, now more than ever we are creating the conditions that support social justice, equality and equity. Through this vision, we are laying the foundations to grow current and future generations that value and recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and histories as a vital part of a shared national identity. We acknowledge the connection Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with the 60 000+ years of history of Australia through the Land on which our early learning environment has been created. We are committed to building partnerships based on trust, respect and recognition of the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We are also committed to reconciliation between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and other Australians. Through our work with children, families and communities we seek to listen, learn and deepen our understanding and respect of First Nations cultures, tell the true stories of Australia’s history, and to care for the land on which we live, work, play and learn.
