Our vision at Sandringham Private Kindergarten is to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our daily teaching and learning outcomes through meaningful collaboration with First Nation peoples. Our pedagogy includes supporting the local community to understand Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories, perspectives, inclusion and diversity.Â
We are committed as a group to learning more, educating ourselves and others to challenge current understandings, biases and preconceptions, and how best to share these with children in an age-appropriate manner. Throughout our implementation of this action plan, we are committed to embedding partnerships with the local community, our Tulip Street Community and the Boon Wurrung People. We also endeavour to welcome and celebrate current families to share unique perspectives and knowledge. We strive to challenge ourselves to always ask questions and to facilitate these learning opportunities with children. We strive for cultural responsiveness and the ability to ask further questions and seek knowledge to share with current and future generations.Â
