As a Christian kindergarten Care, Commitment and Connection are the underlying values reflected in our philosophy. We believe reconciliation has always been Gods plan for and is a priority for Camberwell Baptist Church Kindergarten. Our vision is for all humanity to be deeply reconciled to each other and live in harmony.  Â
We will continue to ensure we foster an inclusive a learning community within our kindergarten where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people to have a sense of belonging, where everyone feels welcomed and respected; and have equal and equitable opportunities to participate in the kindergarten community and beyond. This includes recognising and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia and acknowledging the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land where we learn and play. Â
Our intention is to make reconciliation visible and develop deeper understanding by building staff, children, families and the wider community knowledge of First Nations Peoples, histories, cultures, and contemporary issues. Â We will continue to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our pedagogy, practice and program through providing a culturally responsive and safe learning environment where all children, families and educators, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, children and staff to contribute to our reconciliation journey as confident respectful citizens within our community. Â Â
We continue to form meaningful connections with the local First Nations communities as we recognise that reconciliation requires us to walk together on a shared journey with all contributing by learning and growing through collaboration. Â Â Â Â Â
