VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

MLC Kindle’s vision for reconciliation is an early learning environment that acknowledges the 65,000+ year history of Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes (Torres Strait Islander) peoples and cultures.  Through ongoing and open dialogue with local community members, we are committed to strengthening and developing meaningful relationships with the Wurundjeri people and all other First Nations peoples within Australia. We will develop relationships by inviting Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes students from the College.  We are committed to continuing to develop our awareness and understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes peoples and cultures for both staff and children in our centre. We will respectfully embed Aboriginal and Zenadth Kes peoples’ perspectives into our early childhood curriculum and our daily practices and become more environmentally responsive through learning from the Traditional Custodians of the Land. By enhancing professional partnerships with First Nations peoples and services in the local community we will enrich children’s learning and development and support First Nations owned and run businesses.
