VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Bundoora, Karl Court, we respect and acknowledge the contributions of the Wurundjeri People of the Kulin Nation, and we continue to nurture stronger partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members to develop a future generation of people with deeper awareness, respect and appreciation of the rich First Nations cultural heritages of Australia.    We offer equitable and equal learning opportunities in our educational programs as well as an inclusive and safe environment for everyone to learn. We provide opportunities to children, families and staff to learn about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, cultures and histories.           We recognise that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures are not only the worlds oldest continuing cultures but are vibrant dynamic and evolving.  As a learning community situated in Bundoora we are on an ongoing journey of listening, learning, reflecting and taking action. We are committed to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our curriculum, daily practice and decision making and environment.   We believe that every child has the right to grow up in a society that values and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, voices and contributions. We are learning to care for Country and recognise this as both a cultural and environmental responsibility, ensuring that our children grow with a deep sense of place, respect and connection.
