VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At our long day care centre, we envision a learning community where all children, families, and educators feel a deep sense of belonging, respect, and connection. We proudly welcome families from diverse cultural backgrounds and actively celebrate cultural events and traditions that reflect the richness of our community. We are committed to embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday practices, curriculum, and relationships. We honour the histories, cultures, and contributions of First Nations peoples through storytelling, Dreaming narratives, connection to Country, and culturally responsive learning experiences. We recognise the importance of truth-telling, cultural safety, and respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Our vision for reconciliation is grounded in the principles of Respect, Relationships, and Opportunities. We aim to build strong, authentic connections with First Nations peoples and communities, and to foster a learning environment where children develop an understanding of Australias shared history and a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. As part of our commitment, we are taking the important step of reviewing and publishing our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This plan will guide our actions and ensure that reconciliation is meaningfully embedded in our service, not just as a goal, but as a lived practice.
