VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Sparrow Early Learning, our vision for reconciliation is to cultivate an environment grounded in equity, equality, and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   Developed in collaboration with our team of educators, our reconciliation journey is guided by a commitment to deepening our understanding of the true histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), we will strengthen cultural responsiveness across all our services by embedding culturally safe and inclusive practices.   We are committed to ongoing cultural awareness and capability development for all staff, alongside implementing policies and programs that respectfully and meaningfully engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and communities. We aim to ensure all children have the opportunity to develop a strong connection to, and appreciation for, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures as a valued part of our shared identity.   Our RAP will support our teams in fostering respectful, authentic relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We will prioritise the inclusion of relevant resources and perspectives that promote cross-cultural understanding and strengthen engagement with all children, families, and community members.   Our vision is underpinned by the five dimensions of reconciliation, by embedding these dimensions into our everyday practices, Sparrow Early Learning seeks to be a place of learning, belonging, and respect, where reconciliation is part of who we are and all children can thrive in a culturally rich and inclusive environment.
