VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Goodstart Early Learning Burnside, we acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Owners of the Land on which we learn and play. We respectfully embed our understandings of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories, and ongoing contributions into our learning environment and our wider community.  Our commitment to deepening our knowledge of the Wurundjeri people continues through ongoing professional development, helping us recognise the significance of this learning on both personal and professional levels. We strive to foster and maintain strong relationships with the local First Nations community, built on mutual trust, respect, and genuine collaboration, while creating inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments within our Early Learning Centre.  We respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday practices and advocate for social justice, equality, and equity in relationships between non-Indigenous Australians and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.   Our vision  is to strengthen and expand our involvement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, working alongside them as we meaningfully embed their voices, knowledge, and cultural practices into our curriculum and centre environment. Through these partnerships, we aim to create richer learning experiences for children and a deeper sense of connection,  understanding and reconciliation across our community.
