Yarrawong Preschool and Early Education Centre

At Yarrawong Preschool and Early Education Centre, we believe that reconciliation begins with respect and unity. We are a community which takes pride in many cultures, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. 

We continue to work together as a team to support all educators to build on their understanding of the importance of reconciliation. We encourage all educators to feel empowered to make respectful decisions that align to our reconciliation commitments, and we facilitate opportunities for educators to participate in the reconciliation journey. 

We recognise families as the primary influence in their child's life, as well as important stakeholders within the service. We provide families with the opportunity to join us in our reconciliation journey, ensuring they see themselves as valuable contributors to the decisions and actions we make. 

We acknowledge the role of the community in each child's life. We continue to establish respectful relationships with the local and wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, to give each child the opportunity to interact with and gain a deeper understanding about First Nations peoples, cultures and histories through interacting with First Nations perspectives.
