VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Hopskotch Toongabbie, our vision for reconciliation is to cultivate a respectful, inclusive, and culturally safe environment that celebrates diversity and fosters meaningful relationships. We are committed to building and maintaining strong, genuine connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations.

As a service, we respectfully seek to connect with members of the Dharug community, recognising their enduring connection to the Land on which we gather. We acknowledge the deep spiritual and cultural connection that First Nations peoples have with Country, and we actively promote care for Country by encouraging children to develop respect for the land, participate in sustainable practices, and learn through time spent outdoors on Country. We are committed to deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives, and to embedding these respectfully and meaningfully within our everyday practices and programs.

Our Hopskotch community strives to be strong allies, standing alongside First Nations peoples in support of truth-telling, self-determination, and justice. We are committed to ongoing reflection, cultural humility, and accountability. Together, we strive to foster an environment that promotes respect, equity, and cultural safety for all.
