VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Deniliquin Childcare Centre, our vision for reconciliation is a community in which educators, children, families, and the wider society understand, respect, and value Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, heritages, and knowledge systems. We recognise the importance of acknowledging our shared histories and addressing the ongoing impacts of colonisation on our communities.

We aspire to a future on Wamba Wamba, Perrepa Perrepa Country where all people have equal access to social, economic, and cultural opportunitiesopportunities that are not limited or defined by identity.

We understand that meaningful reconciliation requires systemic change. This includes a collective shift in mindsets, practices, and behaviours across our educators, leadership, and broader community. We are committed to actively learning from, and building respectful relationships with, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoplesparticularly the local Wamba Wamba and Perrepa Perrepa community.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) is our formal commitment to this journey. It guides us as we work to embed reconciliation in our daily practices, decisions, and educational programs. We believe reconciliation is fundamental to our society and our countrys future. As part of the early years learning and development sector, we acknowledge our role in shaping a more united, just, and culturally responsive community. We strive to create a service where cultural knowledge is honoured and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.
