At Howlong Preschool our vision is to recognise the importance of the histories, cultures and languages of the First Peoples of Australia and within our community, in order to gain a greater understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their connections to the Land. Â Â
We will engage with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community authentically and collaboratively to build respectful relationships.Â
With permissions and collaborations, we will deepen our understandings and learn more about Country and culture from our local area. Â Â
We will create culturally safe settings that acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and that these spaces are welcoming for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and all families. Â Â
We will foster an educational setting that respectfully embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives and supports and advocates alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Â Â
We will maintain positive relationships and links to Wiradjuri people which are embedded throughout the centres program and daily routines. Â
