At Milestones Early Learning Centre Moruya, relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider Australian community are positive and reciprocal. We work to ensure these relationships are built on mutual trust, respect, acknowledgement, and are free of racism for reconciliation to be achieved.   We identify the early years as an important part of child development and the benefits of embedding reconciliation themes into our policies, philosophy and educational programs from this young age. In our educational program we respectfully share, acknowledge, appreciate and respect the histories, cultures, rights and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We promote equality and equity for all children, families and community members, reflecting respect and recognition for First Nations People's rights. We work to ensure that we provide equal and equitable educational and wellbeing outcomes for all students We believe working collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community will be beneficial for all Australians on the reconciliation journey We acknowledge and value the input, knowledge and perspectives Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people choose to share with children, educators and families, as we ensure the implementation of meaningful learning opportunities. Through respectful and reciprocal relationships we hope to further instill positive and respectful attitudes towards reconciliation and appreciation, acknowledgement and acceptance of the cultures, heritage, histories and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, as well as their deep and unshakable relationship to Country.
