At Bellambi Point Community Preschool, we acknowledge, value, and respect the cultures and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  Â
Our vision for reconciliation is to hold and maintain meaningful and authentic partnerships between our preschool community and the wider Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, whilst embracing, celebrating, and sharing pride of First Nations peoples and their cultures.  Â
As educators, we continue to engage in learning, through families, community, and professional opportunities to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, perspectives and histories.  Â
We are committed to sharing and promoting respectful learning and discussions with children and families, fostering a deep and genuine connection to, and care for, Country.  As we work on our commitment to progressing reconciliation within our preschool community, we will continue our roles as advocates and allies in supporting, empowering, and promoting equity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, families, and community.    Â
Â
At Bellambi Point Community Preschool, we want EVERYONE to feel welcome in our playground; the plovers who lay eggs on our hill, the other birds that visit our trees and all people too. Â Â Â
We will take care of Country by making sure rubbish doesn't make its way into the creek or ocean, by making sure the birds and animals have access to food and water sources, by being kind and gentle and by taking only what we need. Â Â Â
We will create a welcoming environment, where everyone feels safe, by creating and displaying art and by ensuring the colours in our indoor environment reflect the beautiful blues and greens found on Country surrounding our preschool. Â Â Â
We love spending time exploring our community together, especially the rainbow stairs, the beach and the Neighbourhood Centre. These places always have been, and always will be, Dharawal land. We recognise, respect and celebrate this. Â Â Â Â Â
