Port Macquarie Community Preschool acknowledges the Birpai people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play, learn and grow. We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who continue to care for Country and contribute to community.

We recognise and value the enduring cultural histories, heritages, and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 

Our vision is for a future in which Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are recognised, respected, and celebrated as the First Peoples and Traditional Custodians of the Lands and Waters across Australia.

We envision a society where all children are nurtured from early childhood to develop a deep respect for, and understanding of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing.

We are committed to creating a culturally safe and visibly inclusive early childhood environment, where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives are respectfully embedded in our daily practices, curriculum, and relationships.

We seek to strengthen genuine, respectful, and reciprocal relationships with the Birpai community, walking alongside one another to promote equity and cultural integrity in early childhood education.

We are committed to fostering a community that recognises reconciliation as an ongoing journey, grounded in truth-telling, justice, and healing.
