VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Darby Street Early Learning, we acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the Lands across Australia. We pay our deepest respect to the Awabakal people, on whose Land we gather, learn, and grow. We are dedicated to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoles perspectives in everything we do, ensuring that these perspectives are both respected and celebrated. We believe it is every childs right to learn about Awabakal Land, its Traditional Custodians, and their histories. We are committed to fostering strong, respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in our local community, working together to break down barriers and move forward in unity. As early childhood educators, we understand the power of learning about reconciliation in shaping the future. From little things, big things grow and we believe a childs reconciliation journey begins here, within our community. Our vision is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are fully recognised as the First Nations Peoples of Australia. We envision a country where all Australians respect and honour Elders, past, present, and future, for the wisdom and knowledge they hold, while also supporting the emerging leaders of today and tomorrow.
