VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Jesmond Early Education Centre, our vision for reconciliation includes equal and equitable educational opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders members and their families as well as the JEEC community. Our RAP is an ongoing process we will regularly engage with as we grow as a team and raise awareness about reconciliation in our centre and wider local community.

Through our vision, we are laying a foundation for current and future generations that values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures and heritages. We aim to foster a sense of being, becoming and belonging for all.

We provide positive and respectful learning experiences in our daily curriculum which enhances children’s knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. It is every child's right in Australia to learn about the Land and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Traditional Custodian.

We are committed to building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our community to help break down barriers and move forward together.

Jesmond Early Education Centre commits to continue to educate staff, families and children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, histories, customs, and languages in an open, meaningful, and respectful manner.
