Wyong Preschool is situated on Darkinjung land and waterways. We recognise, value, and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and strive to respectfully include First Nations peoples of Australias perspectives in our pedagogy and practices. Our vision is to provide a culturally safe and welcoming environment, where children participate equally and equitably in quality early childhood education and care that includes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives.Â
Reconciliation requires us to learn the true histories of Australia to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' languages, art, Spirituality, Lore, and customs, and we continue to include these perspectives in our everyday teaching practices and authentic experiences that the children and families engage with.Â
Reconciliation requires us to value these histories to guide us in building and developing trusting relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and work towards a contemporary Australia that respects and values the diversity, inclusion, and knowledge of First Nations peoples. It welcomes equality and equity and promotes participation for all.Â
Our vision is to provide a culturally safe and welcoming environment where children participate in quality early childhood education and care.Â
We continue to work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples within the local and wider communities as we create a safe place for learning and community to come together. We strive to provide all children and families equal and equitable opportunities to reach their potential, building a strong sense of cultural identity and sense of belonging within our service.Â
