At Holsworthy Early Education and Care Centre, we are deeply committed to the ongoing journey of reconciliation. We recognise that reconciliation is a continuous process of learning, respect, and understanding one that honours the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge with gratitude the Dharawal People as the Traditional Custodians of the land on which our Centre stands. We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe that early childhood education plays a vital role in advancing reconciliation. Through inclusive practices, culturally responsive learning, and meaningful community engagement, we aim to nurture awareness, respect, and appreciation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures among children, families, and educators. Our Centre is committed to working in partnership with local and broader First Nations communities to build strong, respectful, and trusting relationships. We actively seek to involve Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, children, and community members in all aspects of our Centres programs and decision-making. Together with our staff, families, and children, we strive to create an environment that celebrates diversity, promotes understanding, and encourages reflection on both historical and contemporary issues impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through education and collaboration, we pledge to continue learning, listening, and growing ensuring that reconciliation remains at the heart of our philosophy, curriculum, and everyday practice.
