VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Together with children, educators and families, we shall travel the path of reconciliation as a community. We will build respectful relationships and opportunities for meaningful collaborations with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we deepen our understanding of First Nations peoples’ histories, perspectives and experiences.  We envision an Australia where harmful race relations are eliminated, equality and equity are valued, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are acknowledged and respected as the First Peoples of Australia. We also envision a national culture that is actively engaged with teaching about the true histories of the Lands we know as Australia.  We are committed to recognising the true histories of Australia and a space that is culturally safe, knowledgeable and responsive for First Nations children and young people.  We will continue to actively listen to the voices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, recognising the close relationships that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have to their Ancestral lands, seas and communities.   We strive for the cultures and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to be acknowledged, respected and represented in every aspect of society, committing to advocating for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights to be recognised and protected under Australian Law. Moving forward, all Australians must embrace reconciliation in their hearts, thoughts and deeps to create a reconciled nation.
