VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Sacred Heart College wishes to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which the College lies, the Whadjuk (Perth) people of the Noongar Nation. We wish to acknowledge and respect their continuing culture and pay our respect to their Elder's past, present and emerging.

At Sacred Heart we are committed to building mutually respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous Australians that allow us to work together to solve problems and generate greater success.  At Sacred Heart we aim to provide an equal and equitable learning environment that values Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Sacred Heart College believes that education is key to supporting health and well-being with respect, equality and equity for all students to contribute.

The College remains committed to pioritising cultural training and immersion on campus, by animating our spirit through the College's core values of courage, compassion and respect.

Courage to embrace truth-telling, to reveal opportunities that acknowledge the history of Australia and provide a spirit of healing and reconciliation. Like the courage of a tree's strength to drive roots down to the earth for foundation, and send branches into the future with hope, dancing with the wind of peace.

Compassion that honours humanity and natural empathy for all of God's people in Australia providing the love and protection of a mother whale as she gently glides through the cool waters of Sorrento Beach.

Respect all cultures with a particular focus on the  history,  traditions and rituals of the Whadkuk people of the Noongar Nation so our communitys true identity and unique' fingerprints'  come together in our hands, united in prayer for peace, love and reconciliation in our country.

We will continue to work collaboratively and in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their communities in a spirit of reconciliation.
