VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our vision for reconciliation is for a community where First Nations students and non-Indigenous students have equal and equitable opportunities to succeed, and in which the values of respect, empathy, solidarity, and compassion for all shape our daily practices.   As a proud Catholic school, St Josephs Mundingburra aspires to be an inclusive community which provides a holistic education and enables our students to become lifelong learners who have the skill and desire to create a better world for all. St Josephs Catholic School embeds reconciliation into the curriculum by providing meaningful opportunities for students to learn, reflect, and act. Emerging Leaders from local high schools visit classrooms and work with First Nations students on topics such as reconciliation, art, dance, literature and Science.   We aim to achieve this by acknowledging and actively engaging with the cultures, histories and perspectives of First Nations students and the local community. We recognise how much we have to learn from and with First Nations peoples and aim to provide a community where all people enter this relationship with open minds and hearts ready to embrace each individual and their beliefs, ideals, and traditions.
