At Kawana we believe that reconciliation means that we respect this Country and the First Nations people of Australia and their perspectives.
It means that we acknowledge the impacts of colonisation on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples that have been made throughout history and actively seek ways to ensure that the same mistakes are not made in the future. We do this by respectfully engaging and embedding First Nations histories and cultures in our daily life at school,
A reconciled Australia starts with schools providing equity, equality, integrity and unity for ALL of our students, regardless of race or background. We believe in closing the gap for First Nations students and that it takes commitment from all of us to make these changes to our curriculum and daily routines.
