VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

Our College recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples as the First people of Australia. In the Catholic tradition and the spirit of the Good Samaritan Sisters, we are committed to providing equal and equitable opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Our vision for reconciliation is to enable all students to feel empowered and brave with their identity.

We will respectfully deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ histories and cultures and aim to deepen our knowledge and understanding through teaching and learning about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives for students and families of the school.

By making this commitment, we aim to create a culturally inclusive environment where staff, students, and community work together respectfully with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, supporting, strengthening and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives at St John’s College.
