VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Wooranna Park Primary School, our vision for reconciliation is grounded in respect, inclusion, and shared learning. We believe that reconciliation is a journey that involves truth-telling, deep listening, and meaningful action. It is about building strong, respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and the wider school community.

We are committed to creating a school culture where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions are recognised, celebrated, and embedded across our learning and teaching. Through initiatives such as our Koori Club, the exploration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander texts in our reading programs, and cultural activities led by staff and students, we aim to foster understanding and pride in the oldest continuous cultures in the world.

Reconciliation at Wooranna Park Primary School means more than inclusion, it means actively working to educate ourselves and others, challenge stereotypes, and empower all students to walk together in partnership. Our vision is for a school where every student, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, and non-Indigenous, feels valued, informed, and inspired to contribute to a more just, equitable, and united future.
