VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Fairhills Primary, reconciliation means building respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples by recognising true histories, valuing cultures, and embedding authentic perspectives in our teaching and community. We are committed to this journey because we believe education has the power to create understanding, equity, equality, and healing.

To achieve reconciliation, we will learn about local cultures, un-learn stereotypes, and re-learn our practices to ensure genuine inclusion. We actively commit to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, embedding cultural perspectives in all learning areas, providing cultural competence training, creating culturally safe spaces, engaging in truth-telling, and ensuring all actions are co-designed with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.
