Our vision is to continue to deepen our communitys knowledge and appreciation of the rich and vibrant Bunurong culture. At Brandon Park Primary School, we are committed to continue to create an environment where respect for all members of our diverse school community, especially First Nations peoples, is paramount. We strive to honour and treat First Nations peoples with the same respect and dignity we seek for ourselves, ensuring our school remains a culturally safe and welcoming place for everyone by regularly meeting with members of the Bunurong Land Council and Aboriginal Corporation. We recognise the importance of our role in maintaining the sustainability of the Bunurong Land that we are situated on, by actively caring for our school environment and embracing sustainable practices. These core values are developed within our students, and we hope to inspire a deep respect for the environment and a commitment to preserving it for future generations. Through these dedicated efforts, our school community further becomes more accepting, compassionate, towards First nations Peoples, histories and cultures, and proactive in leading positive change within the wider community. We understand that reconciliation is not a destination but a continuous journey that requires ongoing effort and dedication. It is our responsibility to educate the next generation, equipping them with the knowledge, values, and respect needed to continue this vital work. By consistently taking these steps towards reconciliation, we aim to foster an environment of understanding, respect, and unity, ensuring that the principles of reconciliation are deeply embedded in the fabric of our school community and beyond. Our vision is not only to support reconciliation today but to build a foundation for a future where cultural awareness and mutual respect are the norms, driving us toward a more inclusive and harmonious society.
