VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, Land over which sovereignty was never ceded. St Aloysius College walks together with First Nations students, families and the wider community on a journey that deepens our understanding and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' histories, perspectives and cultures within the whole school community. We commit to culturally safe environments for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, educators and families. We strive to create an inclusive educational space where there are equal and equitable learning outcomes for all students and the diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures is respected. We will continue engaging with the local First Nations community with respect, building on our existing partnerships and implementing reconciliation initiatives that are meaningful and culturally responsive. We are committed to listening, learning, and deepening our understanding of Australia's true histories, respectfully and compassionately integrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives and cultures throughout our curriculum. At St Aloysius College, we are committed to a just, equitable, equal and reconciled Australia. We walk together with you in this journey of reconciliation. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, St Aloysius is committed to promoting respect, justice, cultural understanding and Mercy Values. "The proof of love is deed" Catherine McAuley
