At Meraki Early Learning Centre Bayswater, we strive to foster unity between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples and all Australians. We aim to build a culture of equality, equity and respect by acknowledging our shared histories and working to overcome negative race relations. Reconciliation begins in early childhood, and we are committed to strengthening our nation through respectful relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people across our community.  As educators, we guide children, families and staff to walk together as one by respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives, cultures and histories into our routines, curriculum and practices. We recognise the rich histories, knowledge and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. We engage with the local Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung communities to deepen our understanding of their heritage and ways of caring for Country.  We honour the Traditional Custodians of the Land, the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Peoples of the Kulin Nation and embed rituals and practices to nurture genuine connection, respect and understanding. Together, we strive to create a community where reconciliation is lived, celebrated and sustained for present and future generations.      Â
