To us at My Kids Early Learning Mackay, reconciliation means; healing after a conflict, rebuilding trust, and choosing forgiveness. It's all about mending broken bonds and choosing connection over division. We are motivated to our commitment to reconciliation, by watching the children in our service grow and learn side by side everyday together. We are motivated by their untainted view of people and the world and watching them be inclusive and showing love to all people. We are privileged to watch the children of the future grow and develop and recognise we are an influential piece of their view on the world and their understanding of reconciliation. We are committed to including First Nations peoples perspective throughout our service via programs and activities we engage in. We want to continue to learn how we can grow in relation to reconciliation and being inclusive using momentum and reflection. Through training and experience our team are equipped to follow through with our reconciliation commitment. We will engage more of the local Yuwibara community and reach out further to extend invitation to our service. Reconciliation to us means learning more about the diverse cultures of First Nations peoples and building stronger relationships with  Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders community members, recognising the past, the ongoing impacts of this past and moving forward to create a better future that holds respect and knowledge for the Traditional Owners of the Land.
