VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Flying Start, our vision for reconciliation is a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are deeply respected, genuinely included, and actively celebrated within our learning community. We respectfully acknowledge the Bundjalung people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we play, learn, and grow. We pay our heartfelt respects to their Elders past and present, and we recognise the strength, resilience, and enduring connections the Bundjalung people have with Country, culture, and community. As educators and caregivers, we are committed to creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment where all children develop an appreciation for the diverse histories, languages, and perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe reconciliation begins with understanding and grows through meaningful relationships. Our programs will reflect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in respectful, authentic, and age-appropriate ways. We aim to nurture empathy, awareness, and awareness of our shared histories, while actively working towards a more just and united future. Through reflection, education, and action, Flying Start is proud to walk alongside the Bundjalung people and all First Nations communities on the journey of reconciliationstarting with our children, our families, and ourselves.
