Our vision for reconciliation is to increase our understanding of the histories and cultures of the First Nations Peoples of Australia, acknowledging their strength, resilience, and achievements. We will develop meaningful relationships with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, founded on respect. We want children in our service, to develop a knowledge of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, histories, cultures and rights. As a community, we will take the journey towards reconciliation together with children, educators, families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and the wider community. We will build relationships, nurture respect and create opportunities to learn from, and work together with, the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community. Providing a culturally safe environment, where children, families, educators and the wider community demonstrate a genuine commitment towards respect, support, development and self-determination of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, will facilitate our journey of reconciliation.
