At Discovery Bay Early Learning and Kindergarten, we are committed to walking together on a journey of reconciliation that recognises honours Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Nations Custodians of this Land. We believe reconciliation begins in early childhood through creating opportunities for meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, authentic learning experiences, and shared respect for culture, history, and identity.  In line with Dr Maria Montessori's vision of education as a pathway to peace, we recognise children as capable, compassionate learners who can contribute to a more just and harmonious future.     

Through our daily practices, we commit to respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and perspectives by embedding them authentically across our Montessori-STEM curriculum and learning environments. Acknowledging Country and fostering children's understanding of connection to land, community, and stewardship through purposeful, hands-on learning experiences. Building relationships with local Aboriginal communities, families, and organisations, ensuring their voices are heard, valued, and reflected in our practices. Empowering children to think critically, act with kindness, and develop cultural awareness through inquiry-based learning, storytelling, art, music, and connection to nature. We are committed to supporting educators through ongoing professional learning, reflection, and collaboration to strengthen cultural competence and confidence.
