VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Bloom Bennett Springs, we acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Owners and Custodians of lands across Australia.  We recognise and value the cultural histories, heritages, traditions, and continuing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and are committed to fostering a culturally respectful environment which supports children to develop an understanding of the value and importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and perspectives.   At Bloom Bennett Springs, we will continue to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples perspectives into our curriculum, everyday practice and routines while also committing to building strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait peoples, organisations, and communities.    We acknowledge the development and implementation of our RAP as a continual process, and we will broaden and deepen our RAP commitments as we grow as a team and organisation. Our service will continue to advocate for respectful engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Islander peoples and cultures. We will ensure all educators have thorough understanding of, and active commitment to, all aspects covered in our vision towards reconciliation.  We are committed to ongoing reflection and improvement in our journey towards reconciliation by regularly assessing our practices, policies and environment to ensure they align with our reconciliation goals.  We will remain committed to sourcing opportunities to increase staff awareness of the longstanding and continuing contributions of First Nations peoples, by providing regular professional development training on indigenous histories, cultures, and contemporary issues. Our goal is to ensure that all educators feel confident and capable of delivering culturally responsive education.
