At Acacia Hill, our vision for reconciliation is a future in which all children grow up with a deep respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples the First Peoples of this Land. The Whadjuk Noongar peoples ongoing connection to Country, culture, and community is central to our understanding of reconciliation and our commitment to walking alongside First Nations peoples with respect and responsibility. Our journey is being shaped through meaningful engagement with local Aboriginal families and Elders. Their guidance inspires us to create culturally safe environments where children, families and educators feel valued, heard, and connected. Reconciliation at Acacia Hill is not a one-off initiative; it is a long-term, whole-of-service commitment built on relationships, reflection, and action. We aim to embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives in our daily curriculum not as an addition, but as an integral part of how we understand identity, learning and community. We recognise the strengths, resilience and wisdom of First Nations peoples and are committed to honouring and celebrating their contributions to Australias past, present and future. Reconciliation is for all Australians. It involves truth-telling, respect, equity and unity not as distant ideals, but as values we live every day in our work with children and families. Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we hope to contribute meaningfully to a future where all cultures are respected, and every child grows up acknowledging and respecting our nations true history.
