VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Papilio Blackburn, our vision for reconciliation is to cultivate a learning environment where every child develops a deep and lasting respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures, and perspectives. We believe that by embedding these values into our daily practices, we can help children grow into compassionate individuals who appreciate the richness of First Nations peoples true histories and identities.   We are dedicated to teaching children to acknowledge and honour the enduring contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Through storytelling, cultural exploration, and inclusive education, we aim to foster a sense of belonging, empathy, and mutual respect among all children.   Our commitment extends beyond the classroom. We strive to build genuine, respectful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities. These connections will guide our pedagogy, helping us to authentically incorporate Indigenous perspectives into our curriculum and service. We will actively engaging with the local First Nations community, and work to deepen our understanding of the Land we live, learn, and play on, recognising its significance and the stories it holds.
