Treeby Primary School's vision for reconciliation is to deepen our awareness, knowledge and respect of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We actively acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of Australia, the Traditional Owners of Lands across this country, and that they are connected to the oldest continuing cultures in the world. We are committed to respectfully connecting with the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and learning about their cultures, perspectives and histories of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families, and their communities. Through these respectful interactions, We aim to create a sense of place and belonging that is reflective of our wider community. We strive for equity and equality for all, by respectfully engaging the school community in working towards reconciliation through developing a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures and heritages. Through this understanding we will create opportunities for respectful, equal, and equitable cultural partnerships within our community.
