At Quantin Binnah, reconciliation means fostering meaningful relationships with, cultural respect for, and an inclusive society of, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples built on mutual understanding and shared values.
Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) reflects our commitment to respectfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ perspectives, particularly those of the Bunurong people, who are the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their neighbours, the Wadawurrung people.
We provide staff with cultural responsiveness training developed in consultation with local First Nations communities, including the Bunurong and Wadawurrung peoples. This equips our team to understand and respect the rich local histories and traditions. Language and communication are central to our approach to reconciliation in education. In collaboration with Traditional Custodians, we will work together to embed their perspectives ensuring they are acknowledged and visible in our community spaces.
We strive to provide culturally rich and responsive environments that acknowledge the heritage of the Bunurong and Wadawurrung peoples. By collaborating with these communities and broader Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander groups, we advance our shared journey toward reconciliation, unity, and respect.
