VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

In an early learning setting, reconciliation involves creating an environment that acknowledges and respectfully embeds Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, histories, and perspectives into the daily experiences of children, educators, and families.

It aims to foster an understanding and respect for the world's oldest living cultures and to counteract stereotypes and biases. Reconciliation aims to bridge the cultural and social gaps between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous people and, as a service, we strive to educate children on First Nations peoples’ histories and heritages. We continuously aim to promote ongoing cultural awareness and an inclusive curriculum and programs.

Reconciliation in our service involves creating a space where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories are acknowledged, represented, and respected. It's about nurturing the next generation's understanding of and commitment to reconciliation, ensuring a more inclusive and harmonious future for all Australians.

In spirit of this unity, we embrace the opportunity to learn, to share and to walk together on a journey of understanding and harmony. Let us continue to build bridges of respect and mutual appreciation, recognising that diversity of First Nations peoples and cultures enriches us all.

As we stand on this ancient Land, we humbly offer our acknowledgement, our admiration and our commitment to fostering a future of unity and reconciliation. Together, let us tread gently honouring the footprints of those who came before us and working towards a future where all voices are heard, all stories are celebrated, and the Land itself is cherished.
