At Birches ELC, we believe it is vital to increase our understanding about the true histories and cultures of the First Nations peoples of Australia, to celebrate their ongoing achievements and resilience. We strive to develop respectful and meaningful relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to enable true reconciliation to occur. Birches Early Learning is committed to maintaining and promoting child safety that incorporates cultural responsiveness and safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and children of diverse backgrounds. Our educators believe in respecting and honouring all families' values, beliefs, cultures, traditions, child-rearing practices and lifestyle choices. We also respectfully acknowledge the Bunarong  People of the Kulin Nations within the local community. We believe that by following our RAP we are helping to guide children into becoming confident, creative, environmentally responsible, and active members of a future reconciled society, contributing to a brighter, fairer and more just future for all Australians.
