At Taylor Child Care and Education Centre, our vision for reconciliation begins with respect to the Ngunnawal people, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we live, learn, and grow. We honour their connection to Country and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Reconciliation for us is about walking together with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples on a journey of truth-telling, understanding, and action. It is more than acknowledgment; it's about creating real, meaningful change through relationships, reflection, and commitment.
We strive to respectfully embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into all areas of our service, from our curriculum to our daily practices and community connections. We believe all children should grow up with knowledge of the First Peoples of Australia, respect for their diverse cultures, and pride in our shared future.
Our educators work together to build cultural responsiveness and create and maintain learning environments where children feel safe to ask questions, explore identity, and connect with stories and histories that shape this land.
We seek to build and strengthen respectful and genuine relationships with local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, educators, and community members. Their voices guide our practices, enrich our learning, and deepen our understanding.
Through our Reconciliation Action Plan, we remain committed to reflection, action, and growth ensuring reconciliation is lived every day in ways that matter. We envision a future where every child knows they have a role in building a fair, inclusive, and united Australia.
