Papilio Early Learning Coombabah

Our vision for reconciliation is for the Papilio Coombabah community to acknowledge, value and respect the cultures and contributions Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples bring to a shared Australian identity. Our vision for reconciliation is an Australia where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families have the same life opportunities as all Australians. We believe that children, young people and families should be safe, have the opportunity to thrive and be hopeful.

As educators we will do this through deepening our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' cultures, histories, perspectives, and contributions and share this learning, unlearning and relearning with our wider centre community. 

As educators we take our responsibility to educate ourselves, children and families about the true histories of Australia and the cultural diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We believe we can meet that responsibility and make a difference in the lives of all children on their reconciliation journey. 

We’re focused on building meaningful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Islander community members, actively valuing and respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and providing a culturally responsive early learning environment where all First Nations children feel welcome and can grow.
