Leibler Yavneh Early Learning Centre's vision for reconciliation is to bring more awareness to our Jewish community, with an intent to ensure that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures are respected, celebrated and engaged with. As educators, we believe we have a strong responsibility to nurture an understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of being. Our hope is to deepen children, staff and parent bodies deepen their understanding of the rich heritages and cultures of First Nations and the ongoing role that they play in the future of reconciliation. As a whole service we strive to respectfully include First Nations peoples’ perspectives and embed concepts and understandings into our daily practices with a current focus on sustainability and a love for our environment. Together, alongside leadership of the College and ELC as well as the community we will continue to reflect on how to respectfully include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ ways of being, belonging and becoming into the lives of our proud Yavneh children while upholding their Jewish identity at the same time.
