At Tara Montessori  we acknowledge that reconciliation is a continual process and aim to continue to respect and develop a deeper understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, cultures and histories. We seek to recognise the true history of Australia and the continuing injustices experienced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our vision is to actively work toward reconciliation and strengthen relationships between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and non-Indigenous peoples within our local and national community. We acknowledge that we live in a culturally diverse nation, and we will strive to provide an environment which demonstrates respect for the Whadjuk people, the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which we work and play at Tara Montessori. Educators at Tara Montessori  will engage in professional development and reflective practice to strengthen their understanding of reconciliation thus giving them a vision on how they can continually embed and respectfully teach about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples cultures, histories and perspectives. Embedding everyday program and practice will extend on childrens, educators and familys awareness and promote our Reconciliation Action Plan within our service and within the education that we provide. Our vision aims to work towards reconciliation encouraging our children to continually engage in activities that highlight First Nations peoples histories, knowledge systems.  We will incorporate the richness of First Nations peoples cultures and languages in all areas of our Montessori program. We will provide opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children to see themselves, their identities and cultures reflected in our environment.Â
