Edge Early Learning Munno Para West, acknowledges, recognises and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the First Peoples of the Lands, Seas, and Air that make up Australia. As we work and learn on Country, we pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, recognising their continuing connection to culture, Country, and community as the Traditional Custodians of the Lands on which our early childhood services are offered.
At Edge Early Learning Munno Para West, we strive towards building open, honest, respectful and trusting relationships between parents, families, children and the local First Nations community. At Edge Munno Para West, children are provided with the opportunity to learn about and develop their personal sense of identity, as well as to recognise the diversity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ cultures, perspectives, and heritages as a proud part of a shared national identity.
We acknowledge that we have many things to learn and that everyone’s journey is unique, taking their own path with their learning, and we will support each other to deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures. We strive towards forming and maintaining relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and Elders in the community, supporting children to understand, gain knowledge and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures and what it means to be part of a reconciled Australia
We strive to build a greater understanding of First Nations peoples and cultures within the Edge community, working collaboratively with other centres as part of a shared reconciliation journey. At Edge Early Learning Munno Para West, we acknowledge our role in advocating for reconciliation within the service and local community.
