VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

At Nido Early School Belair, we respectfully acknowledge the Kaurna people as the Traditional Custodians of the Land on which our centre is situated. We honour and pay our respects to Elders past, present, and emerging, whose enduring connections to Land and culture continues to guide and enrich the local community.

We are deeply committed to fostering reconciliation within the local Belair community, aiming to provide a centre where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples feel welcomed and respected. This commitment is reflected in our ongoing reflective practices.

We are dedicated to enhancing our understanding and actively integrating Aborigional and Torres Strait Islander peoples' knowledges and perspectives into our programs, seeking to provide a more inclusive and enriching learning experience for all children. We acknowledge culture as important for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, to feel a sense of belonging, cultural identity, and pride whilst in our care.

We aim to promote meaningful reconciliation, celebrate cultural diversity, and create a space where First Nations children and families feel respected, seen, and heard.

We believe that through prioritising First Nations peoples' voices and knowledges, all children are supported to learn about Australia’s rich cultural heritages and the importance of respect, inclusion, and acknowledging Aborigional and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
