VISION FOR RECONCILIATION

CREST Educations vision for reconciliation is to foster respect, understanding and inclusion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, histories, cultures and stories across the learning communities of Hillcrest Christian College and Rivercrest Christian College.

As a Christian organisation rooted in the Gospel of love and guided by our pillars of Instilling Faith, Pursuing Excellence, Nurturing Wellbeing, and Serving Community we commit, in truth, humility, and hope, to walk alongside First Nations peoples in the spirit of Christs love and justice.

We are committed to actively learning about, listening to and deepening our relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in our local community. We will continue to learn from the perspectives, and ways of knowing of Traditional Custodians of this place. This will enable us to respectfully strengthen our curriculum and pedagogies for everyone in our school community, including First Nations peoples.

We will foster inclusive and culturally safe spaces for learning and being, where everyone, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, are treated with dignity and respect. This will be done through meaningfully embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' perspectives in our curriculum and acknowledging Australias colonial history and its ongoing impact on our community today.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan affirms our commitment our commitment to reconciliation and strengthens our dedication to nurturing respectful relationships and meaningful opportunities in our classrooms, across our campuses and throughout our local communities.
