We respectfully acknowledge the past and present Traditional Custodians of the Booja (Land) on which Busy Bees East Fremantle Child Care Centre resides: Niergarup, "the place where the pelicans are located," of the Whadjuk Noongar people. It is a privilege to be here on Noongar Booja. Â We wish to show respect and acknowledgment for the future Custodians of this Land, our young koolaangka. Together, we recognize the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to the education and care of all children across the Booja we live on and share. Â Our team and families come from many different countries and cultures. While we are still learning about the history, traditions, and stories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, we are committed to growing our understanding and connection. We are eager to learn directly from the local Aboriginal community, to develop meaningful relationships, and to provide children and their Moort with authentic experiences of culture, knowledge, and custodianship of Country. Â We are blessed and honoured to participate in the Narragunnawali program, using it to provide the best care and education for all koolaangka. Through this program, we promise to continue learning, showing respect, and sharing knowledge about the care of Country from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Â We warmly welcome opportunities to host Aboriginal community members at our service and to be visited by Elders and community representatives. We hope these connections will enrich our service, support reconciliation, and inspire all children to grow with respect, understanding, and pride for the culture of the First Peoples of this Land.
